Back at Sea
Anouchka, Lorenzo, and Jean-Baptiste leave the island of Saint Helena after five days spent half on land, half on the boat. Walking again after two weeks of almost completeinactivity is tough, but sleeping at anchor is even more tiringbecause the rolling motion is more erratic than at sea and prevents restful sleep.
The crew resumes its routines, dividing their time betweenwatches, cooking, tidying, managing the sails, repairs and watching the flying fishes that land in the cockpit. But as the days go by, the violin becomes essential again, even if it's not easy to play on a boat rocking in the swell. Anouchka takes up watercolor painting, and Lorenzo catches his first tuna, a beautiful 8-kilo specimen that we'll still eat a week after theirarrival in Brazil.
One more week at sea and the South American coast willappear on the horizon!

Anouchka, Lorenzo et Jean-Baptiste quittent l’île de Sainte-Hélène après 5 jours passés à moitié sur terre, à moitié sur le bateau. Marcher à nouveau après 2 semaines d’arrêt presque complet est dur mais dormir à l’ancre est encore plus fatigant car le roulis est plus irrégulier qu’en pleine mer et empêche un repos réparateur.
L’équipage reprend ses habitudes, se partageant entre les quarts, la cuisine, le rangement, la gestion des voiles, les réparations et les visites des poissons volants qui aterrissent dans le cockpit. Mais au fur et à mesure que les jours passent, le violon redevient primordial, même si ce n’est pas facile de jouer dans un bateau bercé par la houle. Anouchka se remet à l’aquarelle, Lorenzo pêche son premier thon, un beau spécimen de 8 kilos que nous mangerons encore une semaine après leur arrivée au Brésil.
Encore une semaine en mer et le la côte sud-américaine fera son apparition à l’horizon !
