Second week at sea

After a tiring week, the crew has found its rhythm and is starting this second week with e.nthusiasm.

It's time for the first fishing time and the first catch! A superb sea bream that will be enjoyed that very evening. Anouchka, Lorenzo, and Jean-Baptiste had stocked up on provisions for this crossing, but fresh fish is always welcome.

In their free time, they bake bread and cakes, read, admire the scenery, and the seemingly endless sea. And Lorenzo plays pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, for the pleasure of the other crew members.

But things don't always go according to plan. The hydrophane's rudder came loose, and Lorenzo had to reattach it while suspended above the sea. He also had to climb the mast to secure the spinnaker pole topping lift. It's not easy to avoid vertigo and seasickness, because up there at the top, the effect of the swell and the rolling is even more pronounced.

They are finally approaching the island of Saint Helena. They will soon be able to return to the mainland, regain their strength, and restock their supplies

Seconde semaine en mer

Après une semaine harassante, l’équipage a trouvé son rythme et entame cette deuxième semaine avec enthousiasme.

C’est l’heure de la première pêche et de la première prise ! Une superbe daurade qui sera dégustée le soir-même. Anouchka, Lorenzo et Jean-Baptiste avaient fait de nombreuses provisions pour cette traversée mais un poisson frais ne se refuse pas.

Dans les moments libres, ils font du pain, des cakes, lisent, admirent le paysage et cette mer qui semble infinie. Et Lorenzo joue des pièces de Jean-Sébastien Bach pour le plus grand plaisir des autres membres de l’équipage.

Mais tout ne se déroule pas toujours comme sur du papier à musique. Le gouvernail de l’hydrophane s’est déboîté, Lorenzo a dû le remettre en place en suspension au-dessus de la mer. Il a également dû monter au mât pour fixer la balancine de tangon. Pas évident de ne pas avoir le vertige et le mal de mer car là, tout en haut, l’effet de la houle et du roulis se fait encore plus ressentir.

Ils approchent enfin de l’île de Sainte-Hélène. Ils pourront bientôt retourner sur la terre ferme, reprendre des forces et refaire le plein de victuailles !
