" 2nd day at sea "
The Oxley flew the whole night, there was even a little rain shower from a passing cloud which rinsed the boat. We will probably get more rain the closer we are to Brazils coast. This morning the sky is a bit overcast, providing some protection from the sun but hopefully it will peep out and recharge our batteries through our solar panels. We don’t use much electricity onboard and thanks to our lithium batteries we have enough backup to last a few cloudy days, we get our hot water from an electric boiler so we never need to switch on the engine when on passage.
JB made a rye bread which turned out pretty good and Lorenzo made a parmigiana (eggplant in tomato sauce). The sky was clear enough early this evening so I tried to find the different constellations and stars with a map of the sky, so far Orion and the Southern Cross are the easiest to find as well was Canopus and Sirius. We will soon have to change out time again, back another hour, probably on Sunday when we will have reached the first 1/4 of our trip.
