This morning we switched back from our asym spinnaker to a poled out Oxley on a starboard tack, the wind is slightly better today and we didn’t need to motor (yaay!). The speed has also gone up a bit, averaging 5.5-6 knots and our heading is 295°T - spot on to Joao Pessoa. Our new ETA will be thursday late morning but there seems to be a drop again in the wind the closer we get to the Brazilian coast so we will see…

This evening we had Cape Malay mince curry with home-made rotis, they turned out perfectly! Making the rotis took much longer than the curry but at least it occupied this rather uneventful day. If someone wants the recipe, let me know ;)

Tonight the sky is quite clear, the milky way is nicely visible and the moon is now in the shape of a smile. Jupiter and Gemini’s two stars, Castor and Pollux, are quite visible. Orion and the Southern Cross are as usual the easiest to spot first.
