We are finally starting to settle in and even found a moment today to do some woodwork to make the chart table a better place to store small items. This morning we found a flying fish on the deck, tropical waters are getting closer.

Swell is still the same, wind strength around 20 kts, we decided to goosewing this morning and that’s how it will remain till the wind is calm enough to fly the Oxley. The colour of the water has changed to a beautiful marine blue and the sea is a warm 23°C ! We can defintily feel the difference between here and where we started, the air is much warmer.

Today we had pasta for first time since we left and the rolling has made the preparations quite a challenge, these are times when you dream you were an octopus ! We also baked our first bread, it turned out perfectly out of our cast iron pot. We are enjoying all the goodies that our family and friends gave us when we left.

Tomorrow will hopefully be halfway to St Helena Island. We have been aiming at an intermediary point called Valdivia Bank, its a very shallow patch on the oceans sea bed that needs to be avoided unless you prefer adding to the rockiness.

That’s all for now folks, J
