We have officially passed the 2/3rds of the way mark ! Now we have the last stretch of 555Nm to Saint Helena, the Oxley has been flying non stop since yesterday afternoon and we plan to leave it up as long as the wind stays under 17kts. The repair is doing its job, hopefully we can get the right colour spinnaker tape when we get to Brazil, right now it looks like a little yellow plaster on a wound the size of a chip, barely noticeable mind you ;)

Today we also did our only boat manœuvre for the day which was a gybe, going from 325° to 301°, our final bearing straight to St H. We can feel the end of this first leg coming to an end, we are getting excited to see land again but also enjoying the « doing nothing » that this trip is finally becoming. We were much busier the first week getting everything tweaked and doing last minute fixes that now we can just read, write or watch the ocean the whole day.

Our second banana bread was even better than the first, this time I added vanilla essence and macadamia nuts on top that ended adding that extra yummy toasted taste. Our tomatoes are getting very ripe, needed to throw some away but we hope that the Saints actually grow some… I know about the fact that there are no eggs, so we still have loads, but fresh produce will remain a mistery till we start exploring the island.

Water temperature is now 25°C and we are only 2°E away from Greenwich ! We will be crossing the time line in about 24h, Lorenzo is planning to shave his beard for the first time for the occasion.

Hey Explorers, loving following your Atlantic crossing! Rudolf’s near-miss rudder rescue had me on edge—do you have a backup steering system if one fails? I’m hooked on checking your position on predictwind daily. Safe sails! 🛥️
